Angleen comes with 30+ years of experience across wealth management, investment & business advisory. During her time at Cedar-IBSi so far, she has worked closely and interacted with management teams of FinTech lab members, to play a role in their next phase of product, market and customer growth, and also understand and plan for their future capital raise requirements, to see how the Lab can facilitate this. Going forward, she will play a deeper role as the Lab 2.0 model builds out, between the pop-up Cedar-IBSi FinTech Labs across the region, and the newly-announced cohort programs.

She possesses a strong track-record of past wealth management, IPO, and investment banking experience between India and the GCC, and is also recognized for facilitating RAKBANK’s largest deal, and managing a portfolio of structured products with an average ticket size of $2-5mn across corporates like ICICI and TATA Group.

In her past roles at Seven Capital and RAK Bank, Angleen was responsible for leading the build out of new products and businesses, in areas of investment-linked Insurance products, private banking, portfolio management, and corporate banking. She was also responsible for the bank’s expansion into the UK, Africa, and India.

Sahil Anand

Sahil comes with 9 years of global PE/VC, FinTech consulting and market intelligence experience research via his time at BNP Paribas, Everstone Capital, DSG Consumer Partners, Cedar Consulting, and IBS Intelligence.

Sahil started his career at Everstone Capital, in the private equity investments team, where he had the opportunity to work across industries and deal-cycles. Here he also had the opportunity to work with the fund’s leadership on the “platformification” strategy of the fund, and built proprietary deal-sourcing and pipeline building mechanisms that went on to be used extensively by the investing teams. His highlights here include the role he played on co-leading and executing the iconic $100 million Burger King India deal, where he played multiple financial and operational roles. Sahil then went on to play an early-stage investing role with DSGCP, Everstone’s venture capital arm, where he participated in India’s early FinTech deals, via the fund’s investments in Mswipe and Indialends, and other well-regarded early-stage tech companies.

Post his MBA, and prior to setting up Cedar-IBSi Capital, Sahil spent ~6 years in management consulting and advisory, via his experience at Cedar Consulting and IBS Intelligence. Through his consulting experiences at Cedar, Sahil has assisted global banks and corporates on their business and technology transformation, leveraging Cedar’s proprietary Balanced Scorecard framework, and FinTech centre of excellence. Sahil’s experience at IBS Intelligence included working actively with emerging, medium-sized, and tier-1 global Financial technology companies on assisting them with their growth, via strategy advisory on products, pricing, markets, partners, and other areas.

Prior to setting up Cedar-IBSi Capital, Sahil also spent time leading the ideation and set up of Cedar-IBSi’s in-house FinTech Lab that was founded in 2017 – an accelerator that has quickly become home to 35+ FinTechs who have leveraged Cedar-IBSi’s knowledge and support to grow and raise further rounds of capital.

Sahil has an MBA from London Business School, and a BS in Finance from NYU Stern. He is the former Chapter Chair and founding board member for YNG (Young Presidents Organization) Mumbai and serves actively as a NYU Stern Alumni Association Committee Member. Sahil is also a member of EO (Entrepreneurs Organization), a global network of leading entrepreneurs across industries.

Subit Saurav

Subit comes with more than 13 years of experience, in the fund business, i.e., sourcing, evaluation, investment, portfolio management, and exit from private companies as well as experience in equity raise, debt raise, negotiation, financial & business planning etc.

He began his career with IFMR group, where he spent 4 years in the retail vertical (now ‘Dvara KGFS’), where he got his first exposure to ‘financial inclusion’, its importance and impact in day-to-day life and the significant opportunity it presents. During his tenure at Dvara KGFS, he was working closely with the CFO and CEO, managing annual business planning, debt raise from banks, FIs and capital markets (securitisation, NCDs), and credit rating. Later he worked on $ 5mn equity raise from Tata Capital and was SPOC for a successful strategic business partnership with Axis Bank.

Post this, Subit spent the next ~9 years with Aavishkaar Capital, a globally renowned Impact Venture Capital. He was part of the investment team with a focus on Financial Services and Fintech segment. During this time, he evaluated 100+ deals in FinTech, payments, traditional financial services, and e-commerce, and in the process has built own sourcing network and relationship in the ecosystem with promoters, investment bankers and advisors. At Aavishkaar, Subit led and concluded multiple deals in the FinTech and Financial Services space, and more information on this is available in his detailed investment track-record document.

In addition to his investing role. Subit represented the fund on multiple boards of investee companies, both as Board Observer as well as Board Director (BoD). He successfully managed the balancing act of fulfilling his fiduciary responsibility as BoD, helping/ working with leadership team on strategic matters as well as ensuring that fund’s rights are not compromised.

Subit also possesses strong portfolio management and exit experience, where he has worked closely with promoters and Sr. leadership on multiple aspects including but not limited to CXO/ Sr mgmt. hiring, branding, marketing, technology upgradation, business planning, evaluation of inorganic expansion opportunities, fund raise etc.

Subit has a B.Tech from IIT Guwahati, and PGDM from IIM Calcutta.

Before Cedar, Pallavi worked with Ernst & Young (EY), where she actively participated in consulting and research for three key Private Equity Clients – Apollo Global Management Inc., Blackstone Inc. and Carlyle Group. Preceding this, she worked with Encore Asset Reconstruction company, where she assisted the CEO Office with Board engagements and growth and fundraising plans of the company. She also has prior experience with S&P Global.

Alan Nigrel

Alan brings 6+ years of experience across financial services, insurance, and the consulting world. He has played multiple advisory roles across complex technology transformations, process enhancements and cost efficiency programs. Alan joined Cedar-IBSi Capital after being a Senior Consultant in Cedar’s Fintech & Digital Transformation practice for a period of 2 years.  

During his time in consulting, he has worked extensively across multiple programs including core banking transformations and digital channel upgrades with exposure to leading regional and global FinTech suppliers. This has helped him gather deep insights in FinTech product platforms in the banking industry, what a good product should bring forward to the client, and how a FinTech product/partner can differentiate itself within the industry.

Prior to joining Cedar, he worked at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance company, where he gained experience on working with leading platforms, aimed at enhancing the AI capabilities insurance underwriting processes.

Prior to these roles, Alan was at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, where he spent his time working with APAC hedge fund managers in the area of corporate actions operations.

He has completed his MBA, Finance from NMIMS Mumbai and he holds Bsc. Statistics degree from Mumbai University.

Niranjan Dubey

Niranjan is an Analyst in the fund’s investment team, where plays a role on deal-sourcing and evaluation, along with the other aspects of the investment process, including due-diligence. He also plays an important role in funnel and pipeline-building, using the various data feeds and channels of knowledge and access to Founders and emerging companies, that come from the Cedar-IBSi platform.

Prior to his role at Cedar-IBSi Capital, Niranjan has 2+ years of experience in FinTech research and consulting. During this tenure, he worked with global IBS Intelligence clients on providing them research and data for their sales, marketing, and strategy enablement, via whitepapers, research reports, consulting programs, and other areas.

Niranjan’s experience is unique because of his role in helping build out the IBSi Galaxy product, a one-stop-shop self-service data portal containing global FinTech research and intelligence, with 100+ enterprise subscribers globally. His role here was to conduct research, design the data flow strategy of the tool, monitor progress and updates, and deal with global clients on data requests.

Niranjan has a post-graduate degree from the Indian School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ISME) (ATLAS), where he received a degree in business analytics and research.

Sanjiv Anand

Sanjiv is a recognized global thought-leader in strategy formulation, execution, and performance management powered by the Balanced Scorecard Framework. Cedar’s heritage is being part of the firm founded by Prof. Kaplan, HBS, co-creator of the BSC. For over 30 years he has helped Boards, CEOs globally develop strategy, merge financial institutions, and transform their business & organizations. Global PE funds have also leveraged his expertise in development of their fund strategy, assessing investment targets and improving performance of portfolio companies.

Felipe Martinez

Felipe is currently the Chief Information Officer and Management Board member at Revolut Bank UAB. This is the largest entity within the Revolut Group, operating in all 30 EEA countries, with 13+ million customers.

Originally from Spain, he started his career at Accenture in 1997, assisting with core banking transformation programs around the world, living in Colombia, Venezuela, Spain, Austria, and the UK. Upon moving to Santander UK in 2008, Felipe led the integration of various acquisitions and the launch of Corporate Banking. His next role was that of CIO for retail and business banking.
Then, in 2019, he moved to Finastra as Senior Director of Universal Banking, Global Services. In addition to pre-sales, he was involved in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of numerous core banking programs.

Felipe will play an active role on Cedar-IBSi Capital’s investment committee, in light of his extensive global experience in assessing and working with emerging and established technology companies.

Pradip Shah

Bobby Parikh

Bobby Parikh is the Managing Partner of Bobby Parikh Associates, a boutique firm focused on strategic tax and regulatory advisory services.

Over the years, Parikh has successfully advised clients across a range of industries. India has witnessed significant deregulation and progressive policy reform. Parikh has worked with businesses, both Indian and multinational, in interpreting the implications of deregulation and changes to India’s policy framework. This has helped businesses better leverage opportunities and address challenges caused by such changes. He has led teams that have advised clients in the areas of entry strategy (MNCs into India and Indian companies into overseas markets), business model identification, structuring a business presence, mergers, acquisitions, and other business reorganizations.

As a tax and regulatory advisor, Parikh is primarily involved in inbound, outbound, and domestic transactions. As a result, he often works with private equity funds, institutional investors, and business owners and managers. He develops bespoke solutions that optimally address commercial objectives underpinning a transaction or business reorganization. Parikh also works closely with regulators and policy formulators in providing inputs to aid in the development of proposed regulations and policies. He also assesses the implications and efficacy of these and provides feedback for action. Parikh was co-founder of BMR Advisors, a highly regarded tax and transaction firm he helped establish and run for over 12 years.

Before forming BMR Advisors, Parikh was CEO of EY India. In June 2002, Arthur Andersen merged with Ernst & Young, and Parikh was its Country Managing Partner. Parikh is a graduate of Commerce from the University of Mumbai and qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1987.
